EPCs for Southampton Property Lettings

EPC's are now a mandatory requirement for residential rental properties on the change of tenancy which came into effect on 1^st October 2008 the report should be supplied to the agent when marketing the property and must be shown to prospective tenants and a copy given on check in.

EPCs on rental properties are valid for a period of 10 years.

What is an EPC? An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) provides information on how energy efficient a property is by showing an Energy Efficiency Rating which is based on a scale from A to G. Band A are the most efficient properties and will also have the lowest fuel bills it also tells you about the impact a property has on the environment by showing an Environmental (CO2) Impact Rating which is also based on the same scale as the EPC, the best rated properties will have less of an impact to the environment through carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions
