House Prices Show Further IncreaseTuesday 6th October, 2009House prices increased for the third month in a row during September, increasing by a further 1.6%. The average price for a property in the UK now costs £163,533, which is £9,000 or 5.9% more than in April this year. Prices of properties rose by 2.8% during the last three months to the end of September, the first quarterly increase for two years and the biggest increase since the beginning of 2007. The annual rate at which prices are falling continued to slow down during September, dropping to 7.4%, from 10.1% in August, based on the average price during the past three months compared to the same period the previous year.
