Mortgage Defaulting Bill Backed By Landlords

The Residential Landlord Association are supporting a North West MP's private member's bill to protect Tenants from losing their homes if their Landlord defaults on a mortgage payment.

Currently Tenants who live in rental accomodation risk losing their homes if the property is re-posessed by the bank or building society if the Landlord defaults on the mortgage, often with little or no warning.

The association who represent over 6000 members that own over 150,000 private rented properties throughout the UK are backing the bill because "it is important that action is taken at the earliest opportunity to protect the interest of the Tenants".
